Position:                    Facilities & Grounds Technician
Reports to:                Facilities Manager
FLSA Status:              Non-Exempt
Department:             Facility Management
Location/Shift:         Blue Ash, Ohio / Split Shift (11:00a-7:30p)
 

Position Summary:

      The Facilities & Grounds Technician is responsible for maintaining the facility and surrounding grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. This role performs a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and groundskeeping duties to support daily operations and ensure a well-maintained environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Receive and follow oral or written instructions from the Facilities Manager
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, scrubbing, and maintaining overall floor care
  • Shampoo and/or steam-clean carpets as needed
  • Safely use chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and surfaces
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or with appropriate equipment (e.g., hand trucks)
  • Maintain warehouse and exterior grounds in a clean and orderly condition, including:
    • Emptying exterior trash/cigarette receptacles
    • Removing debris from grounds
    • Spray for weeds/pests and remove from grounds
    • Clean exterior windows
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and grounds checklists
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks according to established procedures and building schedules
  • Notify the Facilities Manager of any major repair needs
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and work efficiently to maximize company time and resources
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 65 pounds occasionally

Experience:
  • Previous experience in building maintenance or a related field preferred
  • Basic knowledge of commonly used groundskeeping equipment

Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information

Education:
  • High school graduate/GED
